Uniform Rules
Each student is expected to be in complete, presentable, and clean uniform each day unless an out of uniform day has been declared for the school, class, or the student uses a school awarded out of uniform pass. Proper grooming is expected of each student.
Official St. Peter School sweatshirts purchased at the Dennis Uniform or previously purchased through the PTO are the only sweatshirts permitted. Uniform slacks should not be: rolled up at the ankles, made of jean material, have extra outside pockets or nail heads.
It is the responsibility of the parents to see that their children are in uniform. If a child is not in complete uniform a note must be sent to the homeroom teacher explaining the reason.
If a child comes to school out of uniform and without a note, the parents will be called. Compliance is expected.
Removable boots should be worn on days when there is snow. Shoe boots should not be worn in school — other shoes should be brought along.
During out of uniform days when uniforms are not required, students are to come to school neat and presentable. Students may wear jeans, provided they are not torn and are in good condition. T-shirts with inappropriate sayings or pictures are not acceptable.
Students are not to wear make-up, nail polish or tattoos. Girls may have a hint of nail polish, i.e. clear, white, or pale pink. Girls are allowed to wear only one pair of post style earrings. Boys are not to wear earrings. Students who have hairstyles too long or have styles that can disrupt the academic environment will be told to cut or change their hairstyles. Hair should be neatly combed and trimmed. No sandals, bandanas, or hats may be worn. Shoes for all grades must have a closed toe. The heel and sole of the shoe should be no higher than ½ inch. If shoes have laces they must be tied. Belts, if worn, should be solid brown, navy, or black. No studded belts or chains are allowed.
Uniform shirts must be tucked in.
Walking shorts shall not exceed 3 inches either above or below the knee.
Socks shall be visible 3 inches above the shoe
On out of uniform days no flip-flops, clogs, tank-tops, halters, crop tops, or
midriffs.
Out of Uniform passes shall not be used on Holy Days or special services in the
Chapel, or when there are services in the Church or Chapel or when representing
the school at any event, i.e. Battle of the Books.
The principal will have final discretion over uniform decisions. Request for
changes in the uniform policy shall be brought to the School Board
Warm Weather Uniforms
